My Students
For the past ten years, I have taught in a variety of classroom environments, each with their own unique rewards and challenges. As an educator, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my teaching style and classroom environment to best help my students find success.
This year I am teaching computer literacy in a ninth grade classroom.
My students are from all around Philadelphia. The ninth grade classes learn basic skills before selecting a professional track for the rest of their high school career. When they graduate, they will either be ready for college or to successfully enter the work force.
My Project
I am requesting funds to attend the annual ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) conference. Each year, this conference is held in a different city and I am lucky enough to live in the host city, Philadelphia, for 2018. This conference is packed with back to back workshops and panels where I can learn new and cutting edge ways to prepare my students for the future.
The skills and ideas I receive from this conference will immediately impact my students when we return to school in the fall.
This project will help make a difference because it will help me make direct contact with other educators from around the country.
Even after the conference is over, I will be able to use these connections to continue to grow my abilities as an educator.
