My students need a class set of headphones and storage unit for laptops we already have purchased.

My Students

Each day students enter my room excited and ready to learn. I have a unique class. We are fixing to go 1:1 with laptops.They do their work on laptops. Students produce work in unique creative ways. One being videos. You can imagine 10 videos going at once without headphones. This is my request.

Our school is set in a rural area with many of our students coming from a single parent family.

We are in a title 1 school area with the majority of our students on free or reduced lunch. Students arrive an hour before school starts by bus, needing a hot breakfast and a safe environment. We provide before and after school activities for our students. They are eager to learn and will try anything new. I recently introduced coding to them. They took it and excelled. Our district motto is we strive to meet the need of every child, every day. We are the fastest growing district in our state. We offer students a myriad of options from virtual learning, to placement on a college campus beginning as early as the freshman year in high school. Learning takes place at all grades. Our district remains dedicated to its focus on educational excellence. We produce knowledgeable citizens who will energize and build our economy. My students recognize what they do now is their future.

My Project

As my students experience real life simulations on our computers, they are excelling in skills they can take to high school and work. Students research our lesson essential questions and then create slides in goggle docs. They have created short movies using software and apps that we have downloaded. Our latest endeavor is learning study skills. We are utilizing quizlet.com to make flash cards, games,and test to help them study. This is a program and skill that can be used in college. Students in my room find answers themselves. We are problem solving and thinking outside the box to learn our objectives. By providing technology for my students, it has opened a world of learning through virtual field trips, video other classes, and teaching research. Students have taught themselves that the world is open to them. They use Khan academy and watch videos to see how to work a math problem Headphones can let them listen without distractions. I can introduce a topic through video

By donating headphones to our class, students will be able to concentrate on their individual learning styles.

I can have many different levels learning at their own pace. I can assign a video for the need of each level. Students can create works of art through music and listen without causing a distraction. As students research and create projects it enhances their real life experience of not just working out of a text book. This helps them experience what their parent may do at work.
