My Students

I teach fourth grade in a title one school. My leaders are full of life and always ready to explore and learn. I am a teacher in a low income/ high poverty area. Many of my students come from a single parent household and receive free lunch. Because of these challenges these students do not always have the necessary items they need to succeed in school. As a teacher, I can not control these students home life, but I do have a say in what students have at school.

My Project

At my school, students are given the awesome opportunity to have one to one technology. You might ask what this means. This means every student in my classroom has their own Chromebook that they get to use for different learning opportunities. This is great because students get to work on their own specific goals. The down side to this is oftentimes I hear about ten different computers all saying different things!

I am asking for a classroom set of headphones.

Many of my students do not have access to headphones, and, therefore, have to use their computers with the volume on. Not only does this become distracting to the teacher, it can also be distracting to other students in the class. With headphones, students will be able to focus on a lesson or activity without getting easily distracted by other noises around them.

Students today have the benefit of accessing so many different programs for learning that by donating to this project you will be able to seriously help improve a child's education.
