Every year on the news, you hear about budget cuts that the school district is facing. But despite this, I still believe that someone wants to invest in the students I teach. The students I serve have not only been impacted by the pandemic but they are also diverse learners as well. In order to close the achievements gaps, I need to be able to help all the learning modalities I teach.
Due to this, my Diverse Learner class needs your help!
I need to be able to provide my auditory students with the necessary tool to help them be successful. To accomplish this, I need to have a classroom speaker donated to my classroom.
I teach at an awesome inner city school located on the south side of Chicago. I am also lucky enough to teach math to intermediate Diverse Learners.
Many students see my school as a safe and nurturing place due to all of the violence occurring around them daily. I want to continue to provide an engaging learning environment despite the pandemic and all of the other social injustices! I want to be able to provide to all the learning styles!
My Project
These materials will help make a difference for the students that I teach who are auditory. Often times, when I attempt to play a video to help support students' learning, the sound quality is not the greatest. I'll just be honest, it's down right terrible because the quality of the sound is distorted and the message I was attempting to share is lost due to that. By supporting this project, you will be giving the auditory students a chance to hear the sound crystal clear which will help aid in their learning for the school year. The benefit and/or intended outcome of this project is to ensure that my auditory learners have an opportunity to engage in a lesson at their preferred learning style which will allow them to be successful when presented a lesson via video or online.
