My Students

My students surprise me with their unique questions and excitement about exploring the world around them. They come willing and ready to learn every day, but do not always come equipped with all of the tools.

My scholars are unique, intelligent, and curious.

Over 71 percent of my students get free or reduced lunch and are highly diverse. They come to the table with lots of knowledge to share. They show a desire to learn about history, but do not always come to school with the basic materials that they need to participate in daily classroom activities.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of headphones. In order to keep up with new technology standards, my scholars are expected to use technology daily. My students will have unrestricted access to online video content, chosen by me, to enhance their learning and understanding of content. They will be able to have access to media and videos that can mean the difference in learning the information. It may sound small, but if I have headphones on hand, I can quickly find a supplementary video for scholars that need additional help. For example, when we are learning about the branches of the US Government, I can find an exciting and informational video for individual students to watch. This means I can provide individualized education for my students learning English and my students with learning disabilities.

What has now become a basic supply for school, may be the difference of a meal.

Some of the families in our community cannot afford some of the materials most would consider "basic." By donating to this cause, you will provide the students most in need with access to something so simple, yet so important.
