My students need a wireless microphone system so they can be heard when they perform on our auditorium stage.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The performing arts is a profound part of any child's education. My students long to experience the triumph of going onstage, but the enormity of our school auditorium makes it impossible to hear my very young students without a PA system and microphones.
My music students range in age from Pre-K to 5th grade.
They are Title 1 students who live in public housing in NY. They are creative, musical and confident. They love to act, sing and dance. They are innovative and open-minded, despite their very difficult home environments.
The triumph of going out on stage, performing a rehearsed piece successfully, and receiving feedback afterward is one of the most profound and tangible reassurances of worth and achievement my students might ever receive. Please help them be heard!
My Project
My students love to learn new songs and create their own musicals. We sing, act, dance and perform original material. Unfortunately, the size of our auditorium is so large, that the audience, made-up of adoring parents and fellow students, can't hear the young performers on stage.
I would love my young performers to be able to speak into microphones, through a small PA system, to overcome their anxieties about not being heard. The amplification system will give my children a sense of control and power equivalent to scholastic prizes or sports championships. It will encourage my young performers to aim higher. overcoming more obstacles and achieving greater goals in future endeavors.
The skills learned in music class will affect and improve my students' abilities in many different areas of their lives.
My music classes develop creativity and allow students to be innovative and open to new challenges. My students develop confidence. Strategies to help my students get up in front of an audience and present their ideas are extraordinarily valuable and under-appreciated in adult life.
The microphone system is a necessary component to allow my children to be heard!
