My Students
In our classroom, the number goal is community. We have made this a focus in our room because the environment in which the majority of the students live does not always make our students feel as secure as the word community should. So, while we are challenged everyday to achieve to the best of our academic ability, we strive to always remember that each person in our community deserves respect and despite any flaws they may have, the should feel secure and included in our community.
We engage this process of community building daily through group activities and collaborative efforts in our classwork .
We encourage the community to there for each other not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. It is our personal challenge to help someone in our community everyday!
My Project
Most interactive digital applications and program have some sort of audio component. Access to headphones in my school is one of our greatest challenges. In order for us to get the most out of what we have available to us we need headphones for every student. Also, with new health concerns, each student have their own pair of headphones reduces exposure and creates a safer classroom environment for us all. The items selected for this project were selected to facilitate individual access and learning for my students. With so much uncertainty as to what education will look like moving forward, increasing my students access to individual materials is a priority.
