My Students

My students are from an inner-city section of Cleveland, Ohio. We currently are focusing on making online learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible. My students are in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades working to succeed in education with obstacles that we are trying to overcome in order to match our counterparts in more affluent areas.

We have been engaged in Remote Learning since the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year in response to the high level of COVID-19 in our area.

It is my intent to continue the 2020-21 academic year using a variety of technology platforms along with online interactive activities.

My Project

These headphones will be used by our middle school students while they are learning from home, as well as when they return to "in school" learning. Situations at home are not always ideal for virtual learning. Many of our students have siblings and other family members that may cause distractions. These headphones will provide an opportunity for our middle school students to participate daily in their classes with minimal extraneous interruptions.

Noise-cancelling headsets with microphones block out distracting background noise, which is especially helpful for students who are easily distracted.

As we continue to close the digital divide in our District and the city of Cleveland, the students in my school deserve to have all the necessary tools to help them be successful learners!
