Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Never in a million years did I think Friday, March 13, 2020 would be the last time this school year that I would see the sweet, eager faces of my 4th graders. While COVID-19 presented many challenges, we defeated the odds and persevered through digital learning. In fact, my students enthusiastically and consistently participated in our daily, interactive meetings!
My students have successfully transitioned to the digital learning platform through their unwavering commitment and my relationships with their parents!
Our Title I school is full of remarkable, hard-working students who want to succeed. It is my goal to provide them with tools compatible with their laptops to help them achieve their academic goals.
My Project
As a 4th grade teacher, our classroom environment is inclusive of all learners. This project will ensure that my students are able to strengthen their reading comprehension skills while listening to grade-level books and passages read to them. It will also empower them to listen to educational videos designed to facilitate learning in math, science, and social studies. In addition, the headphones will provide a hands-free opportunity for students when making presentations online and actively participate in class meetings during digital learning.
I have witnessed substantial growth and enthusiasm during digital learning and would like to carry that torch forward into the 2020-2021 school year!
