This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very deserving and thankful for every opportunity given to them. I teach Math and Physical Education at a Kindergarten through 12th grade school in rural Alabama that serves 861 students. 66% of our students are minority students.

100% of our students receive free school breakfast and lunch and some students receive food over the weekend through a volunteer based Blessings in a Backpack program.

Despite many hardships and obstacles, my students are hard-working and determined to succeed.

My Project

Technology is an awesome tool for learning. There are many websites with tutorial videos, math lessons in real-world situations, and online quizzes which reinforce lessons.

Our class has a few iPads and computers that we use for these activities.

Many students learn best by using technology! We need a class set of headphones so that each student can work independently on their needed concepts without disrupting the rest of the class.

Having headphones will allow each student to work at his or her own pace and on their own weak skills. We are so appreciative of all the opportunities that have been given to us through the generosity of the DonorsChoose family! Thank you for considering this project!
