This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them. I teach 25 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
Being back in the classroom after 18 months of remote teaching and learning is great! It is wonderful to be able to interact with my students in person and not looking at them through a computer screen. With strict protocols in place we are hoping to get back to a sense of normalcy. There is only one problem: it is hard to hear each other while wearing masks!
Having voice amplifiers for my students would be a big help!
My students love to participate, discuss and make presentations. However they must wear masks at all times and our air ventilation system runs nonstop to keep air circulating. These devices will allow all of their voices to be heard!
