This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students belong to a diverse community of immigrant and refugee families with different cultures and backgrounds. Most of these students start kindergarten without ever having attended preschool. The challenges that these children have to face are not only academic, but also social. Many of the challenges they face stem from a lack of access to educational resources.

Most of these students do not have the economic capacity to access tools that facilitate their learning for a successful future.

The families of the students I work with have so much stress around them, and as an educator my goal is to provide as much care as possible to these students to help them be successful in their lives, and to progress academically.

My Project

The majority of our students and their families are struggling just to survive during the Civid pandemic. As their teacher for their first year ever, I want to make sure my kindergarteners have the tools they need to be successful during our Zoom meeting.

These headphones, white boards, and markers will ensure my families that their students will be able to be their best without working about purchasing anything on their own.

Please help me support these budding scientists, engineers, mathematicians, authors, and historians to get off to a great start in their first year of school!
