it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This fall, I reached out to the DonorsChoose community to ask for support in providing headphones and a headphone management system to my students. DonorsChoose came through, and I am very grateful and proud to say that everything has worked out great! Students loved having a pair of headphones assigned to just a few other students and many students commented on the storage system -- no more tangled cords or hard-to-find headphones!
My students responsibly managed their headphones this year but I learned that the headphones I purchased weren't as heavy duty as I had hoped.
As a result, I have had to discard three pairs of headphones and four more have sound in only one ear.
In this project, I am requesting six highly rated headphones so that I can try them out in my classroom next year. The new headphones will make up for the headphones that were compromised this school year. I am hopeful that these new headphones will be sturdier and therefore a more sustainable choice for my classroom!
