My students need robotics models to build. We also need KNEX to create simple machines. There are many resources for me as a teacher to create better lessons.
We need students who can solve problems. In our class we work together in groups working on projects finding new solutions and ways to to work together.
Curious students looking for new ways to learn and make sense of our world fill my classroom.
Children eager to learn by doing things with their hands and making their brains figure out problems also fill my classroom.
My students want to learn by doing things. I love providing activities where these kids can take things in their hands to figure out how they work and why they work.
Our school is working to provide the best environment for active learning. STEM education is what I am aiming to teach every day in my classroom.
My Project
Helping my students learn with hands-on robotics, building materials like KNEX, and more resources for me to use to create better lessons is a huge desire of mine.
We will be starting a unit on microscopes in January, and the new slides make for new discoveries and opportunities to look at the world around us.
Simples machines, motion and how things work is a common core standard in third grade. Materials that students can manipulative provide learning opportunities that they create themselves. This is what we will be doing with the resources we receive from this project.
STEM activities are a big part of my classroom.
The problem is these activities usually need items that are expensive and consumable. I am excited to have an opportunity to bring more of these resources into my classroom.
As the title of my project suggests, Can you really ever have enough STEM stuff? I say no. There are always new things to discover and bring to the attention of your students.
