My Students

Hello, I am the school nurse of kids ages five to eight. They are each unique, lovable, gifted, and caring. The students here range from ages five to eight and many with diagnoses in which I treat. Privacy is essential.

My Project

In my position as a Nurse in the elementary school system, I am given a lot of private information, a lot of what I need, and some of what I do not need. Students have various diagnoses for which I treat and write plans for and I throw away paperwork as it is no longer needed. It will fall in guidelines with HIPPA to have a shredder in the clinic where I can privately shred these personal documents. It is a risk of throwing private information in the trace and a breach of confidentiality. This will protect my students and their families' information. Also, with COVID at an all-time high, it is imperative that we have room dividers to isolate those students that are being sent home for possible COVID exposure.
