Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help us save a tree and the environment. Millions of pieces of paper are used every day and then discarded. My class would like to help cut down on the use of paper in our classroom. To do this we would like to get some white boards and markers to use instead of paper. I have 20 students who come to me with very few supplies. The supplies we get from the school are very limited. As a teacher I would rather use the paper I get from the school for more important activities such as writing stories rather that using it as scratch paper to practice math and handwriting. My classroom will use the markers and boards daily for math and handwriting practice. By using white boards, we will cut back on the paper we would normally use to learn and practice math and handwriting. The state requires us to teach cursive and math skills. White boards will allow the students a way to practice their math and cursive without wasting a piece of paper. By using white boards for scratch paper in math and handwriting, our class will be helping to save the environment and gain the skills that will be used forever.
