As a first grade teacher I love seeing my students make connections with letters that soon become words they can read. I will use the Bob Books during small group instruction as a supplement to the phonics curriculum and instruction. Students will also use these books to practice their blending and decoding skills as they read independently after having systemic and explicit phonics instruction- the students will be able to use the Bob Books as connected texts. Not only will students will be able to practice phonics skills in isolation but in context with these books.
