I am requesting three weighted lap stuffed animals for my TK students to hold. I had made lap pillows in the past but they did not last and after finding these I am sure my students would respond even better. Who doesn't like to pet a dog? We discuss ways to calm our bodies and pets or stuffies are always top things to help and these combine the two. My students have been getting younger each year for the past few and next year they will be the youngest I have had. With their young age comes different stressers and as a teacher I need to find creative ways to help. This brings racial justice to 3-4 year olds as they learn that though we may look different, we all have the same basic needs...one of which is to feel safe.
