My Students

My students are a Head Start GA Pre-K program who are all thirsty for knowledge. We try our best to provide them with tools that will help them to stay college-bound at College Park University! We learn through educational play. They love books and activities that spark their interest.

This marks a new school year, and this year I would like to engage the children I have with STEM activities.

Our students learn through play, and Lakeshore, Kaplan, and Amazon provide good activities to facilitate this. The children I have this year are inquisitive and eager individuals. At the moment we have two students who receive support from the county (speech and occupational therapy). This year we need more manipulatives so children can maintain social distance. But we want them to enjoy learning. I have a great bunch, and with your help, we can help build their future!

My Project

The material we requested will give students the opportunity to allow technology to teach them. I have noticed my students gravitate to the tablets more so than the manipulatives. We will use apps like Khan Academy and ABC mouse. The students will also watch videos and take pictures to show in class dojo.

We have outdated tablets that take pictures, but won't download apps. We also have a need for art supplies and books to reflect our students' background. With your help, you can give students a step up in technology.
