Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a place where students come to learn and work both during the school day and after school. I am constantly at school with students who are trying to get college ready with homework and assignments that require the use of the computer.
I work at a title 1 school in Harlem NY.
Over 75% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of my students have major goals of going to college but are limited due to the lack of resources that other schools may have. Despite the lack resources students depend on the school to provide a lot and sadly it cannot. Despite the lack of resources, I have dedicated and talented students who are motivated to do well in life and take their academic success seriously.
My Project
My students are assigned multiple essays per marking period and materials will be used to print out work for their end of year portfolios which will be filled with their final drafts of essays. Students will be able to print from a reliable working printer filled with ink and paper available for their uses.
My students work hard to make sure that they are completing their assignments.
However, they struggle finding a place where they can print out their work that has a stable supply of ink and paper. My hope is that this project will give my students a dependable resource that they are entitled to
