My students need printer ink, a keyboard and a mouse so they can edit and easily print things for class, college applications, or collaborative assignments.
My students are tenacious go-getters. They are eager to get involved in the school community, collaborate with each other, and immerse themselves in academic programs outside of school hours.
We are a small inner city school with a diverse student population with diverse needs.
Many of my students count on the support they receive in the school building in order to get their work done, build study skills, and excel in learning. The resources and structure provided at school allow them to make goals, strive to reach them, and mold their futures.
My Project
Often, many of my students will ask if they can use the computer in my classroom to work on and print assignments. It is not unusual to see students piled in my room during their lunch period or after school waiting for a turn to borrow the computer and printer. Some do not have access to a printer or computer at home, or simply prefer to work through their lunch period to keep up with the demands of after-school programs, college applications, or intensive collaborative projects.
With your kind donations, my students will be able to use the wireless keyboard and mouse to navigate and complete online applications for college, scholarships, and academic programs.
They will use the black and color printer inks to print resumes, assemble group presentations onto poster board, and print class assignments. Whether my Math students are using these resources for class, or my Advisory students are using them to help community building at our school, these supplies will help all of my students flourish through their academic years.
Not only will my students use these supplies directly, but I myself will use these tools to create more robust instruction and saturate the learning environment with student work and academic celebration. I plan to use the keyboard, mouse, and ink to glorify the walls of our classroom with decorations that motivate my students progress in school.
