This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the lead science teacher in a diverse urban school on the southwest side of Chicago. I see a total of 1200 amazing kids everyday. I want my students to become skilled, passionate, and habitual lifelong learners. However, it’s no secret that most students simply are not excited about school.
As a teacher I have to find ways to engage them in the education experience. All students seem to respond to games as a learning tool. The Jeopardy game brings excitement and entertainment to the classroom. It's a fun way of learning.
The classroom Jeopardy Game is an exciting and effective tool for my students to review what I have taught them, and they will be motivated to learn. My goal is to spark in my students that same passion of learning that I have. The Jeopardy game system will allow me to hook up the system to the TV and allow the children to play science,math or language arts game. The game will help enrich their knowledge and bring back the joy in learning.
There is no limit to what my students will learn while they are having fun competing with a classroom Jeopardy set. I know that they will become engaged in the learning process, if they know that this exciting game will be played at the end of a unit.
