This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How many times have you been frustrated because you couldn't see because of people in front of you? How about because the teacher was showing one regular piece of paper in front of the whole class? My students have felt that many times! Help us fix this problem!

My students are 97 amazing first grade and kindergarten students.

They love to learn, especially when the learning is made accessible for them. My students attend a low-income charter school in urban Southern California. The mission of my charter school, and my class, is to get all students prepared to attend and compete at great colleges and universities. Our surrounding school district does that for less than 10% of it's students. Help us fix that!

My Project

I'm requesting a document camera. A wonderful, let everybody see, make it all clear, give everybody access document camera. I can't explain how frustrating it is for me, as a teacher, to try and show 25 students something using one regular sized piece of paper or even trying to balance math manipulatives while tilting the tray so more people can see. I imagine this is ten times worse for my students! This technology will help all my students access what is going on!

One of the biggest problems in education is access.

For some reason or another, many students can't access the curriculum. This piece of technology is just one more way to expand access in my classroom. ALL students will be able to see what's going on. ALL students will be able to do the work.
