Campfire Book Club

My Project

Fifth graders shouldn't have to sit at their desks all day and all students should have access to flexible seating! With the floor cushions, LED candles, and clipboards, we can make a relaxing and engaging environment for our read-aloud stories.

Reading aloud benefits ALL readers.

In a Spanish DLI environment, our 5th grade classes are made up of students with varying reading skills. However, all 5th graders are entitled to be immersed in 5th grade level content. We can achieve that by providing read-aloud opportunities with tight-knit discussions and activities to facilitate higher-level critical thinking and vocabulary skills.

Students will sit together on the floor with their cushions and have access to their Book Study packets, which can be completed on the clipboards as we read. Candles and a SmartBoard fireplace create a cozy environment for listening to and discussing the story.
