Campers Need Sleeping Bags

My students need 4 Field & Stream Sportsman sleeping bags for their overnight camping field trip.

My Students

I teach at a large, Title I, K-5 elementary school that serves a predominantly Latino, African American, and mixed demographic. Our students are bright, mindful, and have a lot of heart. We are eager to become leaders of the 21st century to make positive changes in our community and world.

The needs of my classroom and community are the core of my approach to education.

I want to create a learning environment where students can learn in the way they need to.

My Project

Our 4th and 5th graders are going to a camp! We are taking our students to an outdoor education camp dedicated to giving students an educational experience of a lifetime. We hope to bring our students to camp for years to come. Students are required to bring sleeping bags to this overnight trip. These sleeping bags will be available for any student who does not have access to a personal sleeping bag during our stay.

I have seen how students can learn and grow from an experience like this.

Our hope is to not let any child feel left out because they do not have the resources needed to attend camp.
