I am not sure how to describe what makes Yearbook students special. I could go on and on about their dedication to a book that lives on forever. I could describe their diversity that brings so many interesting thoughts, perspectives, and personalities to our book. I might even talk about how they put up with my eighties love songs when they would much rather be listening to anything else. I do know this: along with all the qualities one needs to be a journalist for the school, they have hearts that go beyond just caring about the bubbles that they exist in. They truly care about all the students at our school and want to make sure that everyone shines in our book!
My Project
Gr. B. High School is an older, smaller school in an ever growing city. Although the school is rich in its traditions, its size and age does not allow the school to get all the benefits of its bigger counterparts, especially concerning technology.
These cameras will allow the students to take their photos to the next level and create a book that is not only beautiful to look at, but also journalistic.
Currently, operating with only 2 older cameras, students often miss opportunities to take great pictures; thus, there is less coverage of what makes our school great is compromised.
Hopefully this will also encourage more students to want to pursue journalism and/or photography fields of study and build our program.
