Cameras to Capture Memories

My students need two cameras for my photography students.

My Students

Picture a photography class without cameras. My students need cameras to take photos for their creative projects in photography class and to take photos on campus for the yearbook.

Our charter school is located in the foothills of the Sierras.

The students that choose to attend our school do so because they want a school that offers choices. Many felt they did not belong at the traditional high school and many were bullied. At Gold Rush they feel safe and special in our small class sizes.

My Project

I am asking for two cameras for my students to check-out for their photography class assignments. The photography class is very popular at our school. The students take photographs outside of class and learn to edit using Photoshop Elements and create art in our lab. A couple of years ago I purchased some cameras for students to check out and use at home for their assignments. There are only two cameras left due to use and loss. Some students were not able to enroll in the class because they could not afford to purchase a camera. The students in the photography class also take the photos for the yearbook.

By contributing to this project you will be providing an opportunity for students to express their artistic talents through photography.

Students who cannot afford cameras will be able to practice their art and perhaps become the next Ansel Adams.
