My Students

We live in a rural area and my students are being affected by the coronavirus pandemic in different ways. Some are fortunate enough to have devices and good internet access at home, while others are not. Our district has been encouraging in many different ways to attempt in reaching as many students as possible with resources and accessibility to learning. At this time, I use a few platform based resources from the internet that students can work on at their own pace, but it's not nearly enough. Recently I have started to create daily videos to share with the students so that they can hear my voice and see me through this difficult time. The students and families are enjoying the videos and I would like to continue having that resource for them!

My Project

I have found that I get the most engagement from my students when I personalize their learning. These resources will allow me to create clear videos to share with the students on a regular basis while we are all at home.

The document camera allows me to video work similar to what they experienced while we were in school.

The sharpies will add more color, organization and variety to the writings which will be more appealing to the students. The paper will be used similar to how a white board is used and I will be able to save what has been written for future reference. Lastly, the tripod will allow me to be more flexible with making videos of science activities in the home and outside for the students.

These resources will help me to continue to provide engaging activities that the students can watch when they can, even through the summer!
