This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By capturing an image, we can capture a child's imagination!

My students are 7th and 8th graders that are interested in all forms of technology.

They are very modern kids who love to use their phones and computers any chance they get. They love to be active, outside, and engaged in hands-on learning. Our school is a small K-8 charter school in Northern California.

My Project

The digital cameras will provide us with the technology to do so many things. We will use them to record our observations from science labs and collect data from the outdoors. These cameras have a video capability so that students can create videos to illuminate the science content we are learning. We want to make music videos about ecosystems and video collages of images we see on our field trips. When we can use images that they took instead of stock photos from the Internet, the students take more ownership of their work.

By donating to this project, you would be giving these students access to the technology we need to teach science in the 21st century.

The digital cameras will allow us to make connections between art and science and engage the students in their work. This project will encourage the students to use technology and it would be wonderful for Chevron to consider funding.
