My Project

For our IB unit we are exploring "How we express ourselves." We are studying the concept that creativity expresses identity. We will use cameras and musical instruments to explore ways people express themselves.

With a full set of classroom castanets and rhythm sticks we can begin to learn about musical expression so we can learn how to make music to express ourselves.

We want to learn to use cameras and practice editing images and creating backgrounds for stories. Children will have opportunities to print photos and collage with them, discovering which forms of the different types of media they like to express themselves with best.

The books will help us make real world connections and encourage us to express ourselves using different art mediums as well as inspire us to create in different ways. The books included are varied and create windows into cultures and ideas outside our everyday lived experiences. The books can also act as a mirror to find connections to people from near and far, fictional and real.
