My Project
Our students are safe, kind, and responsible. They have lots of energy and love to move to get their energy out. They are curious, caring, and full of energy. Their excitement for attending school is contagious! Being able to help create a foundation and love of school is such a great honor.
Help me give our students materials we can use to create sensory paths in our building for students to meet their sensory needs.
At our school, our preschoolers and kindergarteners are full of energy and love to learn through movement. Sensory paths give students a way to explore movement while growing their balance and spatial awareness. We would like to create three gross motor sensory paths for classes to use. Sensory paths provide an opportunity to take a break from the demanding school day. Students will be able to walk, jump, bounce, and push themselves through their distractions or frustrations. The sensory path will be available to any student within the school building and at any time throughout the school day.
These sensory paths will allow students to release stress through gross motor movement so they are able to focus on the task at hand when they return to the classroom.
