Calming the World Around Them

Help me give my students a calming corner, for a way to express themselves in a safe way.

My Project

My students have various special needs. They find it hard to express themselves in a positive manner. This leads them to feel frustrated and strike out in a negative way.

Many students have difficulties communicating and this can cause them to feel isolated from the world.

The Lakeshore Calming Corner with curtain area allows them the isolation they crave, but still connected to the classroom in a safe manner. The chairs offer them comfort and relaxation. The entire area is designed for comfort and stress-free environment.

The kit and feelings board are designed to help the students express how they are feeling. It allows them to communicate in a nonverbal way.
