My Project

I work in an amazing school of diverse learners. Students come from all different backgrounds. Many of the students speak English as a second language. We also have a large population of students with special needs.

I want to provide a calm area in my room for any student to use throughout the day.

Students can sit in comfy chairs with soft lightening. They will be able to choose from a variety of fidgets and sensory materials to explore.

Hopefully while they are in the calming area, they will be able to regulate themselves and return back to their homeroom ready to learn. My classroom in located in an area of the school that is easily accessible.

I also see small groups of students throughout the day. As a reward, student enjoy interacting with the fidgets. They especially love slime, dough and anything squishy!!
