This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
An engaging and calming area in my classroom students can access when feeling strong emotions is very much needed!
A comfortable chair invites students to stay in the classroom and avoid walking out.
Students will be able to look at posters that visually depict calming down strategies to help them choose a strategy to calm down and get back to their academic learning.
A sand timer will allow students to visually measure their time at the calming station which will help them transition back to work. A clipboard will facilitate writing about their emotions while students reflect about their feelings.
