This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are ordering these items to give our students a place to calm down and destress. We work with only Tier 2 and Tier 3 students, many of whom deal with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders related to growing up with trauma after experiencing multiple adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Thus, we are primarily SEL-focused and provide our high school students a calming space when they are feeling stress or other overwhelming emotions and they come to our intervention room to take mental health time-outs and recenter themselves.
Our students will use the bean bags to calm down, and they will the stress balls and other balls to help them calm down and focus on positive feelings and good vibes!
