This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a classroom of moderate to severe special education students who learn functional skills both in the community and in the classroom. My staff and I need would like some small sensory fidget items to take with us in the community to help de-escalate them when they get stressed or upset. Small calming fidget toys will help redirect and distract the students when they become anxious in the community. These items can be easily carried in a pocket or backpack and would be easily accessible for the students. These items would also double as great reinforcement items and sensory break items.
