This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These materials will be used to create a safe and calming environment for students at the preschool level. Our classroom is a blended classroom which includes students with various disabilities to partake in their learning journey. Sand timers are beneficial for students to use as way to decompress and gain an awareness of time.
Students will be able to thrive from calming materials that will help them to self-regulate.
It is developmentally appropriate for students to be unaware of the feelings that they are feeling and must use tools such as calming visuals and tools to navigate through their a whirlwind of emotions that take place at school.
