My students need blocks, manipulatives, and sensory items to help them re-organize and calm themselves when they are over-stimulated in the classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Tineo's classroom raised $384
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sensory overload, over-stimulation!!! This is something that everyone has to deal with and we learn to cope with it as we mature. Some of our students have not yet learned how to cope with the stimulus of their environment. You can help make a difference and give them a chance to re-focus.
We have 24 amazing second grade students.
A good percentage of our students come from families in which poverty is highly relevant. They live in environments that include housing projects, shelters and foster homes. Approximately 50% of our students have identified special needs and they need constant re-focusing throughout the day or just some time to re-organize themselves before returning to their routines.
My Project
We are requesting sensory items that can help our students re-organize or re-focus themselves when their environment becomes too overwhelming for them. Our goal is to create a sensory corner in the classroom where students can go during their free time or independent work time to receive or block sensory input.
Your donation will help our students acquire the skills they need to self-control and self-regulate.
They will be having fun while learning to re-focus and getting ready to fully participate in all classroom activities.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
