Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our school, we have a wonderful mix of students who may struggle with home or school which can affect their mental health. More than 50% of our students come from low-income households and we also have a large population of multilingual learners, many of whom are new to our area.

The inspirational posters are to create a welcome environment of every student in order to create an inclusive environment, the inspirational quotes and mindfulness journal prompts are to help students to be able to be mindful of positivity matters.

The chalkboard paper and markers are for our culture graffiti wall to welcome and involve all students.

These supplies will give my students opportunities to learn and have a safe and welcoming environment. The rugs and window film will help create a more comfortable environment as well as the posters. The plushies are another form of fidgets but they are also there to help my students to demonstrate how they are feeling. I also want to make our multilingual learners feel welcome with Spanish signs.
