My Project
Items to help teach my first graders about big emotions we all feel will be useful as they navigate life. The social-emotional books have proven effective in many other classrooms, and I'm excited to try some of these in mine!
Self-regulation is a life-long skill that must be taught to most students -- especially those in first grade.
Having visuals and calming fidgets will be engaging and will aid struggling students in the moment they need help the most.
Our calming-down corner will be bumped up a notch, and can provide students with the space they need to de-escalate. I hope to use these toys, books and other resources with all my students as well.
