My Project
Every school needs supplies to help its students feel comfortable, supported, and regulated. This includes the high schools, which often lack the resources for these spaces. At JHS, we have worked to create a space for our students to calm down and feel supported, but we lack the extra materials needed for the space.
The materials are for a calming corner in a high school guidance office.
This will be a place where students can calm down while waiting for support from their high school counselor. The materials selected will allow the students to calm down, and some can be replaced easily. The lights, like the Playlearn Acrylic Sensory Bubble Wall and liquid floor tiles, will bring comfort and help the atmosphere feel more inviting. I hope that all students who visit the calming corner in the guidance office will feel supported.
