This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Calming Corner! We all need a calming space when we get upset. Please help provide that special corner for my students. We are requesting a Calming Colors Beanbag Seat, Cozy Corner Canopy, and Tilt & Turn Liquid Sensory Windows. The corner canopy will be a safe haven for my students to lay on rest mats to de-escalate from their strong emotions and draw their feelings. My students have a range of needs that impact their ability to understand and self-regulate their emotions. We need this in our classroom. A calming corner would mean a world of difference for my students. I would use the calming corner as a way to help my students identify their emotions and reflect upon it. Students will have a safe area to de-escalate and work on how they are feeling at that moment.
