My Students
My students are very enthusiastic about learning and happy to be back in a classroom setting engaging in learning with each other! I have some students who struggle with sensory concerns, emotional and mental health difficulties. My goal is to create a safe space.
My Project
Over the last 18 months children have faced trying and difficult times leaving some of them full of fear, anxiety, uncertainty and emotionally exhausted. As we come back together to our community of learning I want to give them a safe space in which they can learn, play and grow in a healthy way.
Having a calming corner will give my students a space to focus and reflect and be their best.
This space will have beanbags, flex balls, wobble cushions, fidgets, sensory items as well as breathing techniques and tools to help students deescalate and calm down.
