Calming Corner in Cameron's Compassion Center with Clean Refreshing Air!
Help me give my students a Calming Corner in Cameron's Compassion Center. The anxiety is so high with testing on ALL levels and then the decrease in COVID cases yet an increase in COVID mortality.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At-Home Learning through e-Classrooms and a Virtual Google Meets 90 mins each class all day. It has hit these young students, and I quite a bit differently than others dealing with COVID 19. As I approach the 2nd Semester of Distant Virtual at Home Learning and Working at a G.L.O.B.A.L. school, I need to provide these young developing minds with all the resources they should have. Unfortunately they still do not have full access, with testing just around the corner.
My students are 99% English language learners and all receive Free lunch.
They took there exams in their 1st language and now everything is in English and they are struggling readers that are compassionate and caring. Just issuing each a personal copy of Hidden Figures from another project had their eyes illuminated with excitement.
They are remaining at home to ensure their safety and longevity of life while trying to be educated through this pandemic at a crucial year of life 7th-grade. The Summer Programs for the district offered so much for the students, yet there has been zero support at all for the materials to be available to the students at home and allow them to achieve same level.
My Project
The stress levels of my Scholars have increased dramatically over the past few weeks with testing being among us. The increase in absences both Face-2-Face and Virtually has doubled due to testing anxiety 3 weeks of constant non-stop rain and dark dreary weather. We still have 8 more tests to go. Our classroom space is now damp, dark, gloomy, and muggy. Without a window to open for circulation and not having the ability to go outside for FRESH AIR the Calming Corner and change of Air quality is the next BEST thing.
Essential Oils are Essential in simple basic calming techniques with the use of a Diffuser to increase blood flow and air quality.
Having this project fully funded will allow me to cultivate a testing environment that personifies Peace and Calm along with some Valor for Courage and Sleeypize to keep the sleepiness away during the limited testing hours. Digize for the hunger and knots in the stomach generated by testing. EnRGee to keep them Engaged and Alert until our late Summer Release for the year. Citrus for the pesky bugs that are constantly flying around disturbing their learning space.
It will enhance the cleaning supplies that I used in a previous project to create a wholesome clean learning environment.
