Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Developing social and emotional regulation skills is an important part of a child's education, and the ongoing pandemic has given my students more complex situations and emotions to learn how to manage. My goal for our school library is to make it a place where students go not only to learn about literacy and finding reliable information, but also to practice their emotional regulation in a safe, comfortable, and inviting environment.
Part of creating this environment is providing an area with varied, cozy seating options for students to choose from.
This project will expand those seating options by providing a few bean bag chairs for students to use during free time or when in need of a moment to gather themselves.
