This year has been tough for several reasons: COVID, returning to in-person learning, COVID again, and attending to social-emotional issues. However, my students and I made it through with communication and building relationships (as a classroom family). What we do not need in addition to those issues was the constant glare from the harsh, overhead fluorescent lights in our classroom. With the YUKIDS ceiling light filter, we will ultimately have a calming soothing environment to study and work in. The YUKIDS light diffuser will assist with eliminating headaches, migraines, anxiety, and eye strains by reducing glare and flickers emanating from fluorescent lights.
When it comes to the role of lighting in the classroom, having the right form of light is fundamental to the student’s ability to concentrate.
Since Covid-19 many assignments and learning opportunities have moved away from online learning platforms. The fluorescent light filters will provide students with a calmer atmosphere which will help them focus on in person learning environment, increase skill acquisition for social-emotional development, facilitate prevention and de-escalation strategies, improve communication, and promote self-care/self-nurturance, resilience, and recovery. I have also requested EverBrite mini flashlights and Globe string lights to assist with minimizing the glare of harsh lighting and help students focus on learning.
