My Project
My 7th grade students are from different socioeconomic backgrounds and struggle with social and emotional behaviors. With these pillows, students will be able to sit in the Calming Center when they feel their emotions are running too high and they need to regain their emotional and physical control. They will also be able to reflect on their actions and choose appropriate ways to respond to what causes a negative emotional reaction from them. The mission of this Calming Center is to empower students and myself with mindfulness skills that support our overall emotional wellbeing.
