Help me give my students a calming, comfortable class rug large enough for whole class lessons, small groups, or flexible seating options for individuals or partner learning.
Our fifth grade is a diverse, suburban, elementary classroom with creative and motivated students from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds. Some are just learning the English language. Many are eating free breakfast and lunch at school. Many do all of their learning at school because they do not have resources available at home.
I strive to foster a family-like classroom environment where all students feel represented and respected.
Students work together to engage in a variety of lessons, conduct research, and learn about themselves and the changing world they live in every day.
My Project
After many years of teaching first grade, I'm teaching fifth grade this year! The first grade classroom I left had a comfortable, primary themed, carpet space that we used throughout each school day. This carpet will stay with the first grade, and my new class needs a carpet space for my fifth graders.
With a classroom rug my fifth grade students will have a richer environment to learn.
Spreading out to conduct research, reading a good book, working in small groups or conducting whole group lessons, this rug offers my students many options for learning.
This rug has a calming ocean theme, appropriate for fifth grade students. It is practical in color, material, and theme and should last a long time. It's perfect!
