Help me give my students items for calming boxes to decrease classroom stress and increase their ability to focus.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bigelow's classroom raised $659

My Students
The students I work with range from preschool to high school in a small district. They are a mix of personalities, abilities and limitations. They all strive to actively participate in their classroom and want to learn alongside their peers.
Over the past 2 years I have seen a shift in the type of support the students need to be successful in the classroom.
They need more support to deal with the stressors at learning and being in the school environment. I would like to help provide sensory tools and calm down kits to help students stay regulated, stay calm and focused. This will increase their ability to learn and enjoy being at school.
My Project
We all experience stress throughout the day. Students often need assistance to reduce their stress so they can focus and learn new concepts. Calming boxes are tools placed in the classroom to give students a chance to "reset". They can help to reduce stress, help a student regulate and return to the classroom instruction ready to learn. Teachers are working to create an environment to supports, within the classroom, students social-emotional needs. The goal is to create an optional leaning environment and decrease a students level of stress within the classroom. I would like to help provide sensory tools and calm down kits to help students stay regulated, stay calm and focused. This will increase their ability to learn and enjoy being at school.
