This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I really do feel is a great idea to create a calm area for my students in the classroom. I love the fact that my students are preschoolers and at this age is great for them to have a calm area in their classroom, for they could be able to express their feelings and their emotions.
My students are special because, they show me they are willing to express their emotions even though they are 2 - 3 years old.
Therefore, providing a calm area will benefit them in their social emotional development. I do see it important to provided a calm area for my students because it allows them "Me" time; to think about their feelings and express them by drawing or reading books of how they feel.
I will surely include Sanford Harmony in my calm area by providing "Buddy Song" and stories of friendship too. I will also provide posters of feelings in my calm area to encourage the students to express their emotions and feelings. Defiantly, my calm area in my classroom will promote social emotional growth in my students if i have the chance to create it and it will be a happy and relax area for my students.
